The Eastern African Journal of Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism published by the Faculty of Business and Economics of St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT). This old journal has 13^th hard copy editions printed since 2012 when it was lauched. The Journal publishes scientific articles in the areas of business and economics especially those related to tourism. Although the tourism industries is most dependent on many other sectors of the economy it remaines the most unresearched field in East Africa and Africa in general. Since the industry has links to both primary and tertiary sectors of production the journal publishes empirical researches that may address issues related to such sectors. Normally, every issues bears a different theme depending on the prevailing situations and areas of interests.

The journal received international recognition when it was added to the abstract listings in the international journal: Leisure, Recreation and Tourism Abstract which is part of Oxford University in the United Kingdom in 2016. That helps us make contact with other scholars and professionals much easier. Nonetheless, we have been receiving articles from around the globe depending on the issue on the move. The journal has editors with vast knowledge and experience in peer reviewing of articles of different background.  They come from diffent continents and reputable instutions that one would be proud of their work. We thank them for their passion for working with us.

Finally, since the last edition, our journal has been in transition to online “open access” mode since September, 2019. We think this will add a huge and important ingredient in term of visibility world wide. However, that has not been an easy task, and therefore, we could not publish the issues of December, 2019 and March, 2020. The outbreak of COVID – 19 also contributed to our failure. Hence, we apologize to our readers for missing them. We hope that from now on we will be able to supply you with our issues consistenly like before. We also encourage you to publish with us always.
